Life members

  • Bob Boyd – an excellent coach (for juniors/boys in particular), Bob would always take the youngest team that required the most training. Bob has been a Head Coach for a number of years and is responsible for many boys making the Queensland elite national and state levels.

  • Lynne Jensen – a committee member for seven years, who sadly passed away in 2011. Lynne was an enthusiastic parent and committee member, as well as being the club’s Secretary for many years. She was also a dedicated club organiser and her two daughters and son also played for the club.

  • Peter Bagster is a founding member of RCWPC. Peter has been the head coach of the men’s program for a number of years and has also helped develop players to National League standards. Peter has led the RCWPC to victory in the A Grade men’s finals over the past three decades, and he continues to play, referee and mentor younger players. Peter’s great at coaching whilst playing! Before joining RCWPC he was a founding member of the Breakers Water Polo Club, and prior to that, Peter played for the Barracudas Club in the National League.

  • Brad Lauder – also a founding member of the RCWPC. Brad’s a past President and has been on the RCWPC committee since the club’s inception (1994), apart for two years when he was residing in the UK (1998–99).  Brad is a National League and A Grade Referee and has coached at least one team each year. Recently he has coached junior teams that have attended State championships (where they took out the silver medal). Brad has been a Board Member at Brisbane Water Polo and Water Polo Queensland (two stints over the past five years), in addition to being a life member of the Breakers Water Polo Club.

  • Rob Sutherland – another founding member of RCWPC and the club’s long-serving Treasurer for many years. For many years, Rob also undertook the writing of grant applications and only ceased playing for RCWPC when he sustained a back injury. In addition to being a life member, Rob has always been a participating committee member.

  • Joanne Swaffield – has been the social women’s coach for more than 10 years, as well as being an active player. Joanne has also held various positions on the club’s committee. Originally from Rockhampton, Joanne was also a Qld Country Representative.  Joanne coaches and referees, as well as heading the social women’s program for the club.
