RiverCity Water Polo Club is excited to bring back the RiverCity Rumble – Junior Fun 5s Carnival on Sunday 29 November 2026 at Somerville House Aquatic Centre!
The Rumble is a fun, friendly carnival designed for children who are new to water polo or just starting out. Whether you've played a few games, attended a learn-to-play program, or are a confident swimmer keen to give water polo a go, we'd love to see you there!
It's all about fun, participation and learning – not winning!
Who can play?
The carnival is aimed at beginners and newer players, with approximately U12 Division 3 as the upper experience level.
Important – Swimming ability: All participants must be confident, competent and independent swimmers. Games will be played in deep water where players cannot stand or touch the bottom. Unlike FlippaBall, this is traditional water polo, so being able to swim confidently and stay afloat without assistance is essential.
What to expect

Fast 5s water polo – five players per side on smaller fields

A BBQ included for the kids
There are no ladders, finals or trophies. It's all about getting in the water, having fun and discovering water polo!
How to join the Rumble
There are two ways to participate:
1. Enter a team
Schools, swimming clubs, water polo clubs, swim squads and groups of friends are welcome to enter a team of up to eight players.
Don't have a coach? No problem! RiverCity can help arrange coaches for teams that need one.
Team entry: $200

2. Enter individually
Want to play but don't have a team? We'd love to have you!
Nominate individually and we'll help find a team for you to join, or group individual entrants together to form a team.
