River City Water Polo Club is Brisbane's leading club for junior water polo development and home to many of Queensland's state and national representatives.

Based out of Central Brisbane Pools, our club caters for juniors (aged 8 to 18), seniors and players of all skill levels.

Come and see why people are raving about one of Australia's fastest growing summer sports.

RC Boys play the Stingers!

Rivercity boys Dawson, Ryan, Luca & Sam got to have a hit out against the Aussie womens team as they prepared for Tokyo.

RC Boys selected for Australia!

A massive congratulations to Sam Powell and Issac Kyle Little on being selected for the born 2004 squad along with former RC player Jack Fodor.

We also wanted to congratulate Tommy Doe, Ryan Medic and Luca Zollo who attended the talent ID camp at the AIS at the end of May. A testament to their commitment and skills. Well done all who have been involved with these boys, especially their parents and coaches.

Why you should consider RC for your young ladies!

Rivercity is a club that encourages all girls to play for their schools first but welcomes those that would want to improve by having a second and even third game with the club. This season was a perfect example of that. Our U14 B Premiership winning team had only 2 true age U14 players and the rest were U13 from the club, Bridgidine, Loretto and BGGS. Our U15C Premiership winning team started because we had an older sister who wanted to play so we created a team, we struggled to get numbers so we partnered with Warriors and after the first week when the team were a player down for the entire game the team was then undefeated for the rest of the season. Of the 13 Players, 3 were U15, 3 were U14 and the other seven were U13! Girls played up with us from BGGS, MBS & Loretto.

Training Times Term 1 2022

Sign on Now for this Summer

Rivercity Water Polo is keen to get members signed up for the summer season ASAP. There are still a few spots in U12 boys and U12&U13 Girls. Please visit the membership page or contact the registrar if you have any questions.

Senior/Junior Comp delayed

BWPI have advised the junior comp will now begin Saturday Feb 12. With the Seniors starting the Monday after for 8 weeks due to the current Covid situation. Please sign on ASAP.

Summer club fees to stay the same as last season!

The RC committee has kept this season's club fees the same as last season! Sadly there is a $20 increase in WPQ/WPA fees that we have had to pass on. We will also be refunding club fees at the end of the season if we are impacted by a Covid lockdown (fingers crossed).

Flippaball Starts January 30

For all those who are a little young to play U12 or would just like to try the sport for the first time we recommend our Flippaball program.

Aimed specifically at those born earlier than 2010. These 1 hour sessions from 3.30-4.30pm at the Somerville Pool are for those that are STRONG swimmers (ideally with ball skills) but have never played in the BWPI comp before.

So if you have any friends or relatives that are strong swimmers with ball skills get them to sign up today.

Committee positions

River City's AGM for next season will be later in the year. If you would like to be involved or have any questions we would love to hear from you. We need a new Social Media person in particular.
